USA: New data on MH17 crash should help investigation - Zakharova

SOT, Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Russian): "Today, the Almaz-Antey manufacturer published on its web page an official statement that it has handed over airspace data on the area of the crashed Malaysian Airlines Boeing over Ukraine in 2014 to the Russian law enforcement authorities, particularly on the day when this tragedy occurred. Russian Foreign Ministry considers this move to be important first of all because it is a significant contribution to the investigation. We hope that this move will shed light and help to determine the very reasons of what happened in Ukraine two years ago. The victims' families are waiting for these materials. We know that they have addressed all sites engaged in the investigation which could provide any additional information. We believe that these data can help the investigation and can be useful for the victims' relatives who are learning bits and pieces of what has happened that day. Moreover, we hope that this step of the Russian manufacturer should become an example for foreign countries and for all those who possess any information which is very important for determining what happened with Malaysian Airlines Boeing over Ukraine two years ago.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, expressed hope that new airspace data on the MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine could help the investigation, speaking on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York, Thursday.
