CALIFORNIA - Taiwanese Fugitive Dies in Car Crash



A former tycoon wanted on allegations of embezzlement and fraud in Taiwan has died in a car accident in California, the island's foreign ministry confirmed on Tuesday. He had been hiding for years in the United States.

Brazil’s Transparency Minister Fabiano Silveira has resigned after leaked recordings suggested he tried to undermine a multi-billion dollar corruption probe. He’s the second minister to step down from the cabinet of interim president Michel Temer, which is barely two and a half weeks old.

BRAZIL - Gang rape victim speaks out



The young girl who was the victim of a gang-rape in Brazil has spoken about her ordeal.
She says she’s shocked by the reaction of some members of the public who blame her for the attack. Police have now released images of some of the 30 men suspected of being involved and raided two slums near Rio de Janeiro where the incident is reported to have taken place.

There's been a social media backlash after a zoo in the U.S. shot dead a gorilla to protect a toddler who'd fallen into its enclosure. The boy spent ten minutes with the 180 kilogram animal before Cincinnati Zoo's dangerous Response Team made the decision to kill the primate.
