THE SATURDAY'S EDITORIAL OF INC NEWS

THE SATURDAY'S EDITORIAL OF MIRA KARTBAYEVA

ENGLISH

While making it clear that I am Kazakh and therefore it can not concern me personally, I think the proper gesture to destroy illegally imported foods in Russia because of the embargo on the part of Europe, it was rather risky. Let us admit that the import documents were insufficient, that the products did not have the characteristics required by Russian law, that in response to the embargo was extremely necessary, and much more: why having to get to the forced destruction and not distribute to the poor, the homeless, to who has nothing, those tons of foodstuffs that could feed them at zero cost Government?
Now, logically, the public reacts and could react not in a proper manner. Currently 230,000 signatures were collected by a committee, to prevent the complete destruction of the food seized, and allow their distribution to those who are below the poverty line. In France a special law, which has already made the rounds of all the European countries, prevents supermarkets, restaurants and shopping centers the destruction of foodstuffs and the advanced unsold, forcing the distribution of food to those who have nothing or are below the poverty line. It is unknown why of this operation, which has been criticized by all major newspapers worldwide as an act contrary to the common sense of the life, besides negative for the government's position within the country itself, where the number of homeless and the poor is growing steadily.
