China: Farmer goes for a spin in his home made helicopter

After seven years Jie Baogang, a Chinese farmer, managed to take off in his home-made helicopter, in Balitun, Hebei province, on Friday.
Baogang, who has no formal aviation training, seemed delighted as he witnessed his aircraft lift-off in the northern Hebei province.
SOT, Jie Baogang, helicopter operator (Mandarin): "The first time I flew into the sky, I felt like a bird flying. The view down there was splendid; rivers and crops down there are like a beautiful drawing. I was so excited and felt so alive, and I am so proud of myself."
SOT, Jie Baogang (Mandarin): "I started to think about building a helicopter when I was very little, and the thought never stopped. And in 2009, I finally started to do it."
