SLAVERY - The dangerous business of amber mining in Mexico’s Chiapas

Indigenous communities in the Mexican state of Chiapas are involved in illicit trade in amber, with adults and children working in badly constructed mines to extract the precious stone.
They sell it to local strongmen and then at the end of the chain are Chinese buyers who regard the Chiapas amber as the best in the world. But mining for this precious stone comes at a cost.
