DRUGS - Deaths from painkiller abuse jumps in the US

Heroin addiction in the US has been climbing at an alarming rate over the past decade, but now the health authorities are facing a new crisis. Fentanyl, a synthetic painkiller said to be a hundred times stronger than heroin, is increasingly turning up on the streets. According to the Massachusetts Department of Health, more than half of all opioid-related deaths last year involved fentanyl.
