Президент Армении Серж Саргсян посетил сегодня мемориал в Ереване, почтив память жертв геноцида армян 1915 года в Османской империи. Вместе с президентом Армении мемориал посетили также известный шансонье Шарль Азнавур и голливудский актер Джордж Клуни.

Взрыв произошел в метро Вашингтона

Student genius in action
Bright young minds showed off fresh new ideas at the Invention Convention at St. Joseph High School on Friday. Students were challenged to create something that would make their lives easier. A glow in the dark bath bomb, gloves that promise better sports performance, a self-making bed, and snap on pockets were some of the ideas dreamed up by Grade 7 and 8 students from the Edmonton area. CBC video producer Rick Bremness spoke to students about their inventions.

'I prosecuted an architect of the Holocaust' - BBC News
One of the major organizers of the Holocaust, former Nazi SS officer Adolf Eichmann spent more than a decade in hiding before being tracked down in Argentina. In 1961, Eichmann was put on trial in Jerusalem for charges including crimes against humanity.
Gabriel Bach was a young Israeli lawyer at the time and was chosen as one of the prosecutors in a trial attracting worldwide attention. He spoke to Witness about the testimonies that stay with him to this day.

THE ARMED MAN - IN SCHIEDAM
Sotto l'egida di " 't Bloementketheltje", "Albert Hein" e un gruppo di sostenitori della buona musica, ieri sera 23 aprile, si è tenuto un concerto del nuovo coro di Schiedam (Holland), nella "Dorpskerk" del quartiere di Kethel, sotto la direzione del maestro Gerard Lange.
Il coro, "Het Schiedams Koor" , costituitosi nel 2014 unendo 37 coristi di entrambi i sessi e di varia età, ha eseguito brani accompagnati da una decina di orchestrali facenti parte della "Dort Kamerorkest" di Dordrecht, rinomata per diversi concerti fatti nelle città del circondario di Dordrecht ed Eindhoven.
La performance era dedicata all' Uomo Armato (The armed man, una messa in pace di Karl Jenkins) e nella esecuzione dei 14 brani, si poteva osservare, su grande schermo, le vicissitudini della vita delle popolazioni in guerra dalla Seconda Guerra Mondiale ad oggi, vita vissuta da molti e ripercorsa con immagini inedite del periodo bellico.
L'acustica notevole della chiesa ha permesso di passare quasi due ore di ascolto in comodità e piacere della buona musica seria.
Lodevole la direzione di Gerard Lange e della performance dei coristi, qui menzionati nella riproduzione della locandina del programma.

Onder auspiciën van "'t Bloementketheltje", "Albert Heijn" en een groep aanhangers van goede muziek, gisteravond, op 23 april, werd het heeft een concert van het nieuwe koor van Schiedam (Nederland), in de "Dorpskerk" het district Kethel, onder leiding van Gerard Lange meester.
Het koor, "Het Schiedam Koor", in 2014 opgericht door het combineren van 37 zangers van beide geslachten en verschillende leeftijden, heeft muziek begeleid door een tiental orkestrale deel van de "Dort Kamerorkest" Dordrecht uitgevoerd, bekend voor andere feiten concerten in de steden het district Dordrecht en Eindhoven.
De performance
De opmerkelijke akoestiek van de kerk is toegestaan om bijna twee uren van het luisteren in het comfort en het plezier van een goede serieuze muziek.
Lovenswaardig de richting van Gerhard Lange en de prestaties van de zangers, die hier genoemd in de reproductie van het programma poster.

BANGLADESH - Professor hacked to death
Unidentified attackers have hacked a university professor to death in Bangladesh, police say, adding that the assault bore the hallmarks of the previous killings of bloggers and online activists. Police said Rezaul Karim Siddique, a 58-year-old English professor, was attacked from behind with machetes as he walked to the bus station on Saturday from his home in the country's northwestern city of Rajshah.

Merkel visits Syrian refugees in Turkey amid tension over EU migrant deal
German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Turkey on Saturday to see how Syrian refugees are being treated and to try to soothe tensions over the EU-Turkish migrant deal. Arriving at Gaziantep near the Syrian border, she was met by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Amid a ramped up security presence, Merkel, EU Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans visited a local refugee camp.

Obama urges young Britons to reject isolationism and xenophobia
Barack Obama called on young Britons to reject xenophobia and not to pull back from the world on Saturday, a day after warning the UK about the risks of voting to leave the EU.
The US President was given a rock star welcome by more than 500 young British people at a 'town hall' style question and answer event in London.
"We see new calls for isolationism, for xenophobia," Obama said.
"When I speak to young people, I implore them, and I implore you, to reject those calls to pull back."

US Justice Department drops iPhone unlocking case against Apple
The US Department of Justice has dropped a potentially precedent-setting case against Apple.
Prosecutors were attempting to force the tech giant to help unlock an iPhone they said could provide helpful information pertaining to a drug lawsuit.
Someone has now given the authorities the phone's pass code.

Longest ever Mexico-California drug tunnel unearthed
United States Federal agents have seized about one ton of cocaine and six tons of marijuana.
The stash had been smuggled through a newly discovered tunnel stretching beneath the border between Mexico and the US state of California.
At 800 meters, it is longest such passageway unearthed.

No casualties reported after huge chemical blaze in Jiangsu, China
At least 90 fire engines and 500 firefighters struggled to put out a blaze at a chemical storage facility in China's eastern Jiangsu province.
State media reported the building caught fire after an explosion earlier in the day.
Authorities said there were no casualties.

At least 16 people killed after heavy rain triggers landslide in India
Search and rescue operations were underway on Friday (April 22) in northeastern India after a landslide killed at least 16 people in the early hours of the morning, local media reported army officials as saying.
